    *Milestone details:

*Full name: Maintain a website or webpage that apprises the public of opportunities for input and decisions made.

    *Relevance to the ACA:

Many members of the public will be interested in following events and weighing in on policies pertaining to various provisions of the ACA. An easy-to-navigate, well-designed, and thorough website or webpage can help members of the public learn about and respond to issues that matter to them.

Nothing in the ACA requires states to develop a website or webpage to facilitate communication with the public for policy development purposes. However, several provisions of the ACA require or encourage states to undertake public engagement. Web technologies may facilitate this engagement.

§1311 – Navigator organizations that will help consumers and employers use the exchange must demonstrate relationships with members of the public.

§2401 – Consumer feedback for approval of a state plan option for home and community-based attendant services and supports.

§4201 – Demonstrated ability to engage stakeholders as a condition of receiving a Community Transformation Grant.

§5102 – Stakeholder involvement as a condition of awarding workforce development grants.
