Nation: CA: Telehealth Model Statute

The Center for Connected Health Policy convened a diverse group of prominent health care professionals to propose recommendations for a model statute which would create an ideal political environment for updating and expanding California's existing Telehealth Development Act of 1996. Since telehealth is a viable option for expanding provider capacity and access, reducing health costs, and improving quality of care, states interested in telehealth can benefit from a review of these recommendations.

To ensure consumer and stakeholder participation, Iowa state agencies involved in planning the Iowa Health Benefit Exchange held five regional meetings and eight focus groups to engage in both open and directed conversation about rights, responsibilities and concerns regarding the Exchange. The information gathered at these meetings is summarized in this document.

Maryland: MD MCMH Provider Payment Methodology

This presentation outlines the methodology for payment reform in Maryland's 50-practice Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) pilot. This payment reform methodology emphasizes that PCMH generate shared savings, as well as utilize a cost-covering fixed payment plan for the Medicare and commercial populations.

What's New on State Refor(u)m

State Refor(u)m is home to several new features, thanks in part to feedback from users. These site improvements make it easier to find what you're looking for, monitor your state's progress, and stay up to date on the latest implementation activities.

Document Filters
It's now much easier to search for documents on State Refor(u)m. In spots where you click "all" to see more documents, you'll land on a page containing document filters. These filters can be used to sort material by state, document type, and milestone. The filters are helpful for finding documents within an indicator, as well as across the site.

Milestone Completion
Completing milestones on State Refor(u)m brings states closer to ACA implementation. Now we're making it easier for users to track their state's progress and assess the work ahead.

  • Clicking on "my state" brings you to a list of all progress indicators for your state. The milestones under each indicator are now accompanied by checkboxes, which are filled when a milestone is completed. In addition, an announcement appears on the webpage for the appropriate milestone.

Recent Activity
State Refor(u)m is home to new content every day, and we want to help you stay on top of it. Two new features can help users monitor the latest developments in their states or interest areas. Each state page now has a "Recent Activity" box displaying the latest documents and comments pertaining to that state. In addition, users who subscribe to an indicator's RSS feed will be notified when new, relevant material is posted.
