In this July Health Affairs article, the authors examine provisions in the ACA designed to improve transitions for adults with chronic illnesses. They find that the needs of vulnerable populations are not adequately addressed and that unintended consequences of these programs may lead to poor outcomes. They recommend policymakers take steps to prevent these unintended consequences.
